This two-tier order picking installation with an integrated steel platform consists of 4 rows of carton live storage racking with a total capacity of some 2 000 lanes and 4 rows with different lengths of pallet live storage racking providing 220 roller conveyor lanes for 440 Euro-pallets.
Storage units:
Stacks of games in cartons with different dimensions and weights (piled loosely on top of each other).
A particular feature of the 4 000 mm deep rows is that the flow shelves have an inclinable front section at the picking face which can be adjusted at the required angle (see picture on the right at bottom).
Function:
The installation is loaded by order picking trucks. Orders are picked manually onto picking trolleys.
A-items are picked from the pallet live storage lanes, B- and C-items
are provided in the carton live storage lanes.
Benefits:
Due to the new equipment the storage capacity has been doubled on the same warehouse surface. Reduced travel routes have led to shorter order throughput times which ensures on-time deliveries to the more than 10000 customers worldwide.
