This installation forms the central part of a warehouse which consists
of pallet racking, a mezzanine level and runs of shelving.
There are 4 runs of live storage racking with a total length of
17 000 mm and a total depth of 15 000 mm.
The bays are 1 650 mm deep and 2 700 mm wide.
Above the order picking area and the picking aisles is a push-back buffer stock for pallets. The height of the installation is adapted to the roof line. In 3 runs of live storage racking, goods are picked from the pallets on the ground level above which there are 5 levels of carton live storage. The fourth block provides 10 levels of carton live storage.

456 pallet positions in the push-back buffer stock
Function:
From a total range of 4 500 items, A- and B-items are concentrated in
3 picking aisles with a total length of 51 000 mm. In this area, fast movers are picked directly from the pallet.
C-items are stocked separately in an area with conventional racking.
With the push-back racking built on top of the order picking area, time and travel routes required for re-stocking have been cut to a minimum. Benefits:
The available storage volume now includes adequate reserve capacity for a continuously growing range of products. Shorter travel routes have reduced personnel costs as well as order throughput times.
