Features:
Three-tier live storage installation for palletised loads consisting of
2 blocks of live storage with central picking aisle and conveyors.
Length 83 000 mm, height 8050 mm, total depth 7800 mm. Each block of racking has 27 bays with 2 lanes per bay for pallets handled long-side facing.The lanes are 2 pallets deep and equipped with a hand or foot operated load separator. On all three floors, orders are picked from both levels. In front of every picking side is a roller conveyor for returning empty pallets.
Storage units: Chep pallets sized 1000 x 1200 mm with a maximum load capacity of 1000 kg.
Storage capacity: 1212 pallets.
Function:
The installation forms part of a central warehouse which supplies more than 400 outlets. Small-sized fast movers are picked order-based directly into multi-trip containers in which they are despatched. The order pickers are supplied with empty containers via roller con-veyors and a container lift which links all 3 floors. Roller conveyors also take the filled containers to the despatch area, where an automatic sorter accumulates in-coming containers from this installation as well as from other storage areas according to their destination.
Benefits:
Excellent utilisation of the available warehouse space. Order picking according to the FIFO-principle. Short travel routes and permanent availablility of goods result in a high picking productivity. The employment of appropriate conveyor systems requires less staff for inhouse transport.
