The installation consists of 8 racking blocks:
3 live storage order picking blocks, 2 static double deep pallet racking runs and 3 static one pallet deep racking runs. The order picking blocks are 42 120 mm long, 15 900 mm high and 4 900 mm deep. Each block consists of 21 bays with two lanes per bay. With 6 live storage levels on top of the (static) ground level, each bay has 12 pallet live storage lanes.

Pallet loading and retrieval is done by a narrow aisle order picking truck with telescopic forks. For this reason, the full width conveyor lanes are split at the loading side. The particularity of this installation is that the order picking tunnels and the narrow service aisles of the rail-guided VNA-trucks are very close together. For work safety, light barriers have been installed in the order picking aisles. Function:
In the order picking aisles, many different items are provided on static pallet positions which are replenished by the live storage lanes on top. In every other bay, these roller conveyor lanes are inclined either to the right-hand or the left-hand loading aisle in order to feed the picking places on both sides of the picking tunnel according to the FIFO-principle. The order pickers place picked goods onto a roller conveyor lane in the middle of the picking tunnel which transports the goods to a collating area, where they are allocated to the customer orders. On the short side of the racking blocks, transfer positions facilitate handling of fully loaded pallets by reach truck.
