Warehousing and despatch area
Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu
Features:
The installation consists of 5 racking blocks, 4 of them are 4 lanes wide, the other is 6 lanes wide; each lane can take 7 pallets in depth. Each block is 3 levels high.
The blocks measure 5270 mm and 7860 mm in width, 8000 mm in depth and 6550 mm in height.
Storage units: Euro-pallets 800 x 1200 mm and pallets with special dimensions of 1000 x 1 200 mm and 1 070 x 1100 mm. Pallet loads vary between 300 and 900 kg.
Storage capacity: 336 pallet positions in the 5270 mm wide blocks plus 126 pallet positions in the 7860 mm wide block.
The picking positions are equipped with braking rollers for direct braking and a dynamic end stop ensuring smooth pallet travelling to the picking front. Function:
All five racking blocks are positioned directly at the spacious roof-topped loading dock area and are used to group together loaded pallets to lorry loads according to the despatch routes. 4 blocks provide lorry loads to the company-owned fleet; the fifth racking block which has been installed at some distance from the other blocks provides picked orders ready for despatch in customer-owned lorries.
Apart from the racking blocks at the loading docks another pallet live storage installation has been mounted as a buffer stock in the goods-in department. Benefits:
Due to the new warehouse concept material flow is more organised and benefits from shorter travel routes. With their additional buffer function the racking blocks in the goods-in and despatch departments absorb peaks and help to maintain an even work load. Waiting times for lorries going out have been cut and personnel costs have been reduced. At the same time, work conditions for the staff improved considerably. |
